China!

March 23rd, 2008

HS (Annika feat. Maia) are going to China, and Taiwan!
During the last year I’ve been fortunate enough to meet, and to e-mail with, some Chinese musicians as well as your random Chinese music lovers. What really gets me is how hard they all seem to work just to be able to play, or listen. There’s a lot to be said about this trip, and I don’t think I’ll be able to grasp it all until I get back.
Here are the dates:

April 9 - Beijing (Peking), YugongYishan

April 11 - Guangzhou (Kanton), C-Union Bar

April 12 - Taipei, The Wall

(After China, Annika and Maia will proceed to play Japan - but as Maia Hirasawa and Säkert!)

A sneaky peak of a new song!

October 2nd, 2007

The fun people of Brazilian website Pocketmusic record artists performing songs in unusual places. Check here for me doing a new song in an elevator (it’s about how every person is like a song, and you should stick with the God only knows people), Maia singing her song “Crackers” in front of a news stand and Suburban Kids With Biblical Names playing and walking at the same time.
Oh and by the way, THANK YOU to Ana, Tatiana, Jarmesan, Tiago, Gordinho, Ana Paula and everyone else who took such good care of us while in Brazil, and most of all thank you audience for coming to our shows! Take us back.

We’re going to Brazil! Yes it’s true, Hello Saferide (duo version with only Annika & Maia) will be touring around in Brazil between Sept 13 and 23. Also coming along on the tour: Love Is All, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names. Try to wipe the stupid grins off our faces, I doubt you’ll succeed. Exact dates coming soon.

Latitude

One of the best festivals of the year will definitely be LATITUDE in Suffolk, England. And yay, we’re playing there on Sunday, July 15! You simply need to come.
