Oh, excitement! The nice people of Handcuts Records are releasing a special Japanese edition of Introducing…. In stores March 14.

Dublin, baby!

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

On March 3, guess who’s coming to the Absolut Swedish Music Festival on The Village in Dublin, Ireland? Well, Moneybrother and Taxi Taxi! for example. Oh, and we’re coming as well.

We reggae first

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

While remembering 2006, I looked through some photos from London. I found this on a wall at a Rough Trade:

We reggae first
2007: let’s be happy and funky together.

January 10th and it’s already clear - it’s going to be an even better year

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

2006 is over and done with. It’s been the best and the worst year so far. I guess it’s my own fault for jinxing it in a song (- it’s going to be another shitty year -).
I’m currently working on a song I’d like to call 2007. I believe the lyrics will be about someone who wins a million dollars.

2006 - THE VERDICT

MOST EFFICIENT DAY
The day in February when I wrote The Quiz and 2006.

MOST FREQUENT BAND ACTIVITY
Sauna

THE HS AWARD FOR BEST SUPPORT
Tobit and Dagny for coming to every Stockholm show - and then some

THE OTHER HS AWARD FOR BEST SUPPORT
The sun. Maybe the weather gods like us, because every damn place we came this summer, the sky cleared up when we entered the stage

THE HS AWARD FOR WORST SUPPORT ACT EVER
Maia who played support for us all year and stole all the HS listeners

MOST CONFUSED LINE IN A SONG…EVER
As I said, I wrote 2006 and The Quiz in a day and then we decided to record them very quickly. I never realized I had mixed up the names of Ivanhoe’s chick Rowena and Robin Hood’s chica Marion. Hence: Watching Ivanhoe on TV/picturing me as slacker Marion

WEIRDEST DAY OF MY LIFE
Spooning 10 different people for the video for The Quiz

PEOPLE WHO HAVE SANG THE OTHER LEAD ON I THOUGHT YOU SAID
Andreas Söderlund (100 occasions, still doesn’t remember the words)
Maia Hirasawa (2 occasions, learned the words after the first time)
Ludwig Bell (3 occasions, also sings on record)
Martin Hanberg (3 occasions, at every time someone has started crying)
Christian Kjellvander (2 occasions)

NUMBER OF OTHER BANDS TRYING TO PICK A FIGHT WITH HS
1

NUMBER OF PEOPLE TRYING TO PICK UP MEMBERS OF MY BAND FOR FILTHY PURPOSES
4673542424637

THE AREN’T YOU SICK OF US YET-AWARD
Göteborg and Skåne. We’ve probably played Göteborg 10 times this year

THE PEOPLE WE’VE LOVED THIS YEAR
Everyone at Razzia and Luger
Arrangers
Jesper and Per-Olof - our brass section. If only they’d been with us all year instead of just during the autumn
Magnus Eklund - our sound guy. If only he’d been with us all year instead of just during the autumn
Firefox AK, Tiger Lou and the FFAK and TL hangarounds
Vapnet
You, yes you

In 2007…
…we’ll record some stuff but it won’t be released for a while
… we’re going to Holland, UK, and Japan
… HS band members are releasing lots of records: Sounds Like Violence, Maia Hirasawa, Thunder Express (also, check out Dreamboy, Autisterna). I recorded an album in Swedish. It doesn’t sound like HS. Säkert
