The Winner.

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

She would have won the Novell Prize

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Oh, the joy! Yesterday, I was awarded with the Novell Prize (compare: the much less interesting Nobel Prize, which will be given out today to some dorks). Novell is a really good new Swedish music magazine, and The Novell Prize will be an annual ceremony, celebrating storytelling in music. I was given the award for 25 Days.

Novell writes about it here. I took the liberty of translating for you non-Swedes, using the always very “accurate” Google Translate:

It was Annika Norlin, which was awarded the history first Novellpris at yesterday’s gala at the Theater Scenario. The justification was:

Novell Prize 2008 goes to the renewal, the everyday adventure and the ecstasy lyricists re-supplied. In its vinnarlåt frilägger she abyss under everyday prattle - with universal validity, bitter insights and linguistic ingenuity. For the song “25 Days” is Novell Prize in 2008 to Hello Saferide, Annika Norlin.

In her suit she to celebrate the launch of Novell Prize.
- I think it is time that there will a place like this price, which promotes storytelling in text writing. It has been the Cinderella processed earlier.

THE flips.

Norway, that’s what I call a good country. Not only are you wealthy, not only do your stores contain my favorite snack - Peanut Flips -, not only do you have the most amazing bone structure, but you also have the best taste in music. We played in Oslo a couple of weeks ago, at the mighty club John Dee. We were greeted as kings, and we were given a majestic smorgasbord of different meats. (None of us ate this, but we appreciate the effort.)

The Norwegian audience listened attentive, laughing, crying, and dancing at exactly the right places.
And now this!

PS. One day, oh Norwegians, I will play you my dirty song I’ve Done The Fjords, And Now I’m Coming To Do You

P3 Guld contest!

Friday, December 5th, 2008

P3 Guld nominated me/us for “Best Artist Of The Year”! Vote here if you want to. I’ll also be performing in a super special way (or something) at the grand gala, held January 17 in Göteborg.

I was kindly given 2 tickets for the event and I want you to have them. Just e-mail me: info@hellosaferide.com, filling in the blanks in this sentence: “If I was a song, I would have beenbecause ….” before December 17.

Please include your address. The winners will be judged based on creativity, taste in music, and lack of smileys in the e-mail.
